Banded Lapis Necklace

There's something timeless about lapis.

For thousands of years, its rich royal blue has been worn by artists, royalty, and explorers alike. Tiny flecks of natural pyrite shimmer across the surface like a night sky scattered with stars, making every stone feel like its own little universe.

This striking hexagonal lapis is wrapped in my signature hammered belted setting, allowing the stone to remain the star while adding just enough handcrafted texture to complement the natural character of the gemstone.

Bold enough to stand alone, yet simple enough to wear every day.

Why I Love This Design

I call this my belted setting.

Rather than surrounding the stone with a heavy bezel, a single hand-fabricated sterling silver band securely embraces the center of the lapis. The result is a design that showcases as much of the gemstone as possible while creating a clean, sculptural silhouette.

For this necklace, I chose a lightly hammered finish on the band. The subtle texture catches the light beautifully and echoes the tiny golden flecks naturally scattered throughout the lapis.

The pendant hangs from a sterling silver stationed bead chain, adding just enough visual detail without competing with the stone itself.

Every necklace is individually fabricated and hand set in my Georgia studio.
