This one is a little wild.

A chunky, step-cut hexagonal iolite sunstone sits suspended between two completely different paths of silver—delicate chain on one side, hand-forged and twisted sterling silver on the other. Then they switch. It's asymmetrical, balanced, slightly unexpected, and probably one of the most adventurous designs in this collection.

And the stone is stormy. Deep violet and slate blue move through cloudy, translucent sections, with tiny flashes of sunstone appearing underneath. Depending on the light, I can't decide whether I'm looking into a storm-filled sky or down through dark, moving water.

Maybe that's the point.

The Story

This entire collection is about looking at the sky from different perspectives—and Tempest feels like the moment when the sky stops being pretty and starts being wild.

There are clouds in this stone. There is light trying to get through them. There are darker places and little flashes of warmth buried underneath. It doesn't give you everything at once.

I wanted the silver to have that same sense of movement, so instead of building a conventional frame around the stone, I alternated soft chain with rigid, hand-forged silver. One moves freely. One holds its shape. Then they trade places.

There's tension in it, but there's balance too.

And somehow this big, strange stone just sits there in the middle of all of it—almost like it's on a throne.

Not a perfectly calm sky.
